I film every song I write. Why?  I've got a bad memory and would otherwise just forget all of my new tunes.... Also it's a great way of being self-critical. Writing a song and then watching yourself perform it. You can critique every nuance, every lyric. You can also notice varying vocal techniques and how to improve them. Editing is also a harsh process. Get rid of what you don't need. You have to do some scratching away to find the true song in it's most concise form. Sounds easy.
